Thanks for visiting the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary website. Here you'll find a
wealth of information about the Olympic Coast, the work of our sanctuary staff and partners and the
role of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in protecting America's most
important maritime landscapes and ecosystems.
Feel free to explore - our research pages are full of exciting work being done by scientists, from
NOAA, universities, Indian tribes and other governmental agencies. Our education pages can prepare
you for your visit and highlight ways to learn more about the Olympic Coast regardless of age and
audience.
Since what we do is mostly about conserving the ecological, cultural and historic legacies of the
Olympic Coast, look at our regulations and the laws and other documents that guide our important
work.
Mostly, we hope you will enjoy your browsing adventure. It's not as much fun as actually visiting
Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, but we've worked hard to make our website authoritative
and entertaining. And we hope to meet you - either through the Internet and e-mail - or in person, when
(we hope) you'll visit our new Olympic Coast Discovery Center, in Port Angeles, Washington.
Sincerely,
Carol Bernthal
Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary Superintendent
